According to Marca, Cristiano Ronaldo will sign a £175 million-a-year contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr before the end of the year. Manchester United terminated the 37-year-contract old's earlier this month after he slammed the club in a surprise interview with Piers Morgan. Ronaldo, who is presently in Dubai, had been connected with the Saudi Arabian club before to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he declined to comment since he was concentrating on the event. According to Marca, Al Nassr wants to recruit Ronaldo by the end of the year and has given the 37-year-old a £175 million-a-year contract to do so. Ronaldo and his family are thought to be in Dubai awaiting confirmation of the contract, which includes advertising deals. The Portugal international turned down a transfer to Saudi Arabia last summer, but with no definite interest from Europe's leading clubs, he appears likely to make the move now.

Al Nassr is one of the most successful teams in Saudi Arabia, having won the country's top division nine times, the most recent victory being in 2019.

Al-Nassr did not win the league in either 2020 or 2021, but they did win the Saudi Super Cup. They have, however, struggled to make an impact on the world stage. Their sole participation in the Club World Cup came in the 1999-2000 season, when they fell 3-1 against one of Ronaldo's former teams, Real Madrid.

They went on to win 4-3 over Raja Casablanca.

Rudi Garcia, a Frenchman who has formerly coached Roma, Marseille, and Lyon, presently manages Al Nassr. They also play at a stadium with a capacity of 25,000 people.

Ronaldo joining Al Nassr would be a game changer for both the club and the country as a whole, as they want to become a big sporting nation.

The Sports Minister of Saudi Arabia earlier stated that he would 'love' to see Ronaldo play in the country's local football division.

'Anything is conceivable,' Prince Abdulaziz told BBC Sport. 'I would love to see Ronaldo play in the Saudi league.'
